Did you know student members can earn college credit for the HFMA Business of Health Care course?

Student members of HFMA can earn 3 college credits outside the classroom when successfully completing the HFMA Business of Health Care® course. The American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) has evaluated and recommended college credit for the HFMA Business of Health Care®. For the benefit of our Student Members, HFMA also participates in the American Council on Education’s transcript service. Student members of HFMA who successfully complete the HFMA Business of Health Care course can earn 3 undergraduate college credits that they can use at the schools of their choice as part of a lifelong record of learning on Credly’s platform. This service enables learners to present a nationally recognized transcript to the college or university of their choice for the potential award of academic credit.   • I passed the 75 question HFMA Business of Health Care Exam and was awarded a certificate from CME University…Yeah.  Is this the same as the CHFP?  Or, am I terribly confused?  Thanks

  • Congratulations on passing the HFMA Business of Health Care program assessment and earning CME credit! This assessment is Module I of the two part CHFP program. Successful completion of HFMA’s Business of Health Care assessment, Module I of CHFP, and active HFMA professional or business partner all-access membership are the required prerequisites to enroll in HFMA's Operational Excellence program - Module II of CHFP. If you would like to pursue the CHFP certification you can find more details here.

    HFMA Business of Health Care offers the following credits:

    • 14 CPE (Accredited by NASBA)
    • 13.5 CME (Accredited by PIM for various categories)
    • 3 Lower-Division Baccalaureate credit hours (Accredited by ACE)
