CRCR Certification

I just completed the CRCR course and will be studying over the next couple of days to prepare for the assessment. I took my own notes from the course and need to know if I will be able to look at my notes while taking the assessment.

  • Technically it states that it is not an open book exam so I would say that we aren't able to look at our notes nor the study material during the exam.  I struggle with being timed as it adds anxiety to taking the exam however I waited until I felt confident in my knowledge and just took the exam reading each question and possible answer at least three times.  We are given enough time to do that and actually with each question one's confidence builds.  My suggestion is have a glass of water, make sure you've eaten, and are ready.  If you've gone over the information a few times you'll do well.

Is the exam proctored? Like web camera will be turned on or something? Because my laptop's camera isn't working and if it is turned on then I need to get the external camera.

  • Hello, please reach out to me at carerservices@hfma.org and I can assist you.

  • You cannot use the notes. Exam is not proctor but don't recommend you switching up the browser.

  • I've found that revisiting the intermittent questions and end-of-chapter questions is good preparation for the assessments. Even if you've finished the course, you can return to those questions to test your knowledge. If I miss a few, I return to the course for a review. Then I try all of the questions all over again. While they don't represent 100% of what's on the assessments, I find that when I'm answering those questions correctly, it's a good indication that I'm ready for the assessment.
