    Hello Paola, the Certified Specialist Managed Care (CSMC) certification is an active designation but no longer available for enrollment (effective Dec. 2021).

    For those members that earned the HFMA CSMC credential, this is valid for life. CSMC certificants do not have a maintenance due date and will no longer see an expiration date in their HFMA certification tab nor in the digital badge platform. CSMC certificates can continue to utilize the digital badge, list the certification on transcripts, in signature and resume. The skills learned during preparation and successful completion of the assessment will translate to current and future practices within this specialty area.

    In place of CSMC, HFMA launched the new Certified Specialist Payment and Reimbursement (CSPR) certification designation. Please email me at careerservices@hfma.org with any further questions.
