CRCR vs CHFP certifications

Hello all,

I am nearly finished with my MHA and would like to focus on healthcare finance/revenue cycle and reimbursement. I was told to look into the CRCR and CHFP but wondered if one provided more weight than the other? I plan to complete them both eventually but would like to initially focus on whichever one is potentially more important than the other, if that's even the case. Does one provide more benefits in the job market than the other? I appreciate any responses, thank you!

    Hi Rachel,  I have CHFP and CSBI (Cert certifications in addition to an MBA specializing in Healthcare Management.  I would recommend the CHFP first as it is more broadly encompassing and the CRCR to support that.  I work as a Data Analyst which is why I carry both the CHFP and the CSBI.  Both of them are included with your membership.  I just dedicated a couple weekends to studying and taking the exams.  Maintenance of CEUs are easy with all of the webinars and training offered through HFMA.
